Earlier this week on the 18th I was treated to a beautiful day up in London for my 22nd birthday. I was taken for lunch to the 3 Michelin star Restaurant Gordan Ramsay on Royal Hospital Road.

Our amuse bouche! Delicious flavours of tomato, basil and ricotta.



For starters I chose the smoked potato and poached hen’s egg ravioli with pak choi, roast chicken jus and leek velouté. The sauce was so moreish and went perfectly with the side rosemary bread and salted butter.



Ed for starters had salad of Szechuan pork, tiger prawn, chargrilled pickled and marinated vegetables, Asian herbs and daikon dressing.




For my main I had the spiced free range Devon duck with Swiss chard, beetroot and grilled onions. It. Was. Amazing.

Ed for main chose the roasted rabbit loin with Bayonne ham, confit tomato, marjoram, broad beans, grelots and chargrilled charlotte potatoes. This was the first time we both tried rabbit, (we were not expecting it to be white meat) an interesting texture but of course lovely and perfectly combined flavours.


Pudding we both had the banana parfait, peanut butter mousse and bitter chocolate sandwich with caramelised bananas. Best pudding I’ve had at a Michelin star!

After finishing all these courses out came another surprise of strawberry ice cream balls covered in white chocolate and squares of dark chocolate truffle and rosewater turkish delight. They also brought out a little raspberry sorbet for me with a birthday candle in and the maître d’ sung me happy birthday which was very sweet.

The maître d’ also kindly gave us a tour of the kitchen after our meal. It looked extremely professional and calm, with the chefs each having their own work station.
